Hi,

I am currently praying a 54 day novena -rosary. And I am praying for a special intention. Lately, I’ve been hearing about the Divine Chaplet of Mercy. I recieved a prayer card some time ago- but never did the chaplet, then I heard my cousin mention it, and then I saw a post on the “praying the rosary” thread.

I thought may be this was some sort of message (I don’t want to use the term “sign”)…telling me to find out about the Chaplet and start praying.

So I started a novena yesterday- and I use virtual rosary to do it. I was struck by the ending prayer, and about trusting in Jesus. Trusting him to take care of you- and yes while we all have intentions- we must remember that we have to accept whatever is the Lord’s will for us. It is so applicable to my situation.

I have been working on a reconciliation with my ex- we are currently talking very well and have also seen eachother. There is constant progress…and on his part (he was the one who broke it off with me). We are more or less becoming better friends- we have not spoken about a reconciliation- but a growing friendhsip is a great place to start back.

I have prayed steadily- asking for the Lord’s grace to accept his will- and also asking that my ex and I to be able to heal our relationship.

I can’t deny the progress I’ve seen and the strength I get from praying. But I am human and from time to time- I get impatient and angry and I feel like God is punishing me. May be I just needed a reminder that I need to TRUST IN THE LORD.

I’ve read a lot about the Chaplet’s history online.

Does anyone have a strong devotion to the Divine Mercy Chaplet, or any inspiring stories?

I don’t have any inspiring stories, but it was a big devotion for my husband and I before we got married. I love the Divine Mercy Chaplet because, for me, it’s a constant reminder of our call to humility, which I need to work on all the time. It’s so beautiful! Have you read St. Faustina’s Diary? I’ve only read little excerpts, but each little bit I’ve read has been amazing. 🙂

Place your intention before starting the prayer and you will not only benefit from praying it yourself, but from everyone on there praying with and for you!

Not really. I say it daily, and before I do so I announce the intention of saying it for all those who will take their lives in the next 24 hours. I use a CD, by the way, of the chanted version. I always stand up, throw my arms upwards for the final three sentences, and chant them loudly

No complaints from the neightbors yet, and the cats ignore me:rolleyes:

I pray with the Chaplet Devine Mercy at 3:00pm daily, and at night I read a few pages of Saint Faustina’s Diary - Devine Mercy in My Soul - in which she said a lot about Jesus’ Mercy. I had quite few great answers to my questions by reading the book.

At the begining of the book:
My daughter, be diligent in writing down every sentence I tell you concerning My mercy, because this is meant for a great number of souls who will profit from it.
(Diary 1142)

I pray the Chaplet daily and also set aside time to read from St. Faustina’s diary. When I pray the chaplet on the rosary, I make a separate intention for each decade, i.e. poor souls in purgatory, my natural family and my church family, anyone in the world dying that day, etc. etc. etc.

Then throughout the day I also pray the chaplet when I’m painting or gardening or cleaning or driving. Somewhere in St. Faustina’s Diary, Jesus told her to instruct everyone to say the chaplet unceasingly - so I do. If I’m alone, I say it out loud and íf I’m near others, I say it in my heart. I noticed too that if I pray the chaplet at night in bed when I’m falling asleep, I wake up with the prayers still in my mind - sometimes in the middle of the prayer as if I’m continuing where I left off when I fell asleep or where I left off moments before while I was sleeping.

Water - I too have received remarkable answers from reading St. Faustina’s diary. I wasn’t looking for them and was very startled to suddenly see them in print.

The benefits of saying the chaplet are enormous. Personally, I would highly recommend this outstanding Devotion to the Divine Mercy of God.

Praise and Glory to God for giving us such a gift 👍 👍 👍 .

The Divine Mercy brought me back after years of sinning and I got to a really low point in my life. One night I went to bed and was awakened by words being repeated in my head. They were “for the sake of his sorrowful Passion have mercy on us and on the whole world”. I could not get back to sleep because these words kept repeating and repeating even though I tried to stop thinking about them. This happened for several days and I guess I must have looked a wreck through lack of sleep. My wife asked what the problem was. I told her and said I wasn’t sure what the words were (it had been more than 10 years since I last prayed the Divine Mercy so I couldn’t remember the words) but they won’t go away. She told me it was from the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy and she said at 3pm every day they pray that on EWTN so she told me to pray the Divine Mercy that day. I did and that night I got a great sleep. No words in my head any more. I also realised that I was using the Rosary beads to pray the Chaplet and I hadn’t prayed the Rosary for years either. From that day I have never missed praying the Divine Mercy or the Rosary. Within a week of that first prayer I went to the Sacrament of Reconciliation and after Confession I sat in the Church in tears. His Divine Mercy really had brought me back and my Faith has never been stronger.

Thank you for sharing this with us. Yes, that happened the same thing to me.

Thank you for sharing this, thistle. How great God’s Mercy is! and how powerful the prayer is. I believe that your wife’s dedication to the praying had been rewarded - God answered her prayer by letting you hear the prayer in your head.

Do you have the book of St. Faustina’s diary? I read the book daily beside the Bible. It is a great book.

Question: Is there an online copy of this book? I would love to read it, as I have a lot of questions about the Chaplet…And it’s almost like I was supposed to start saying it…I am on my 3rd day (first time ever oraying the Chaplet).

Yes I bought the book and you are right. Its a thick one but well worth the read.

Hi all,
I see that several posters are familiar with the diary of St. Faustina and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. I don’t have a copy of the diary yet (it’s on order ),but I have a question. Is the Chaplet five decades long because most people already had five decades rosaries or was St. FAUSTINA told to pray it as a five decade prayer? Thanks.

You asked for a personal story. When my daughter was pregnant with her second child, it was a very difficult pregnancy. The doctors told them there was only a slim chance the child would survive. I prayed the Divine Mercy chaplet everyday at 3:00, on the evening of the eighth day she went into labor. The next day at 3:00 I slipped into a side room for the last prayer, as soon I I finished the chaplet they delivered a health baby boy. The doctors were astounded. My grandson turns 14 this year. I truly believe my grandson is alive because of the Divine Mercy Chaplet.
