Divine Mercy Chaplet

I was kind of confused about how the Divine Mercy devotion should be done.

Jesus told St. Faustina to do the Stations of the Cross. How does that reconcile with saying the Chaplet itself? Do you say both?

I think Jesus was keeping them separate. If I remember correctly, He told her that the Chaplet was especially helpful at 3:00 PM, the hour of His death. And then He said if at all possible to say the stations of the cross after saying the Chaplet particularly on Fridays. He would also like us to say the Chaplet as a Novena starting on Good Friday. I recommend googeling “Chaplet of the Divine Mercy” and there are many web sites with information on the Novena and St. Faustina. You will find all the info you need.
