Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Today is the Feast of Divine Mercy Sunday! Hopefully your parish will have some special devotions as Jesus requested through St. Faustina. For more on this Feast see HERE. Hopefully many of us will be gaining the special Plenary Indulgence attached to this Feast. For more on the Decree of Indulgence (June 2009) see HERE

Praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet not only today but everyday is a practice that has been a special blessing for me and for others I know. For more on the Chaplet see HERE

The Feast of Divine Mercy will always have a special place in my heart. When I finally decided to return to Mass after more than 15 years, the first Mass I went to after my general confession was on the Feast of Divine Mercy, during the Year of Mercy. For me, growing up the face of the Church had been JPII, a man I always respected and even loved, despite rejecting my Catholic Faith at a young age. His writing and personal holiness had an immense effect on me coming home, and it was his devotion to Mary that prompted me to cultivate a deeper devotion to Our Lady. So when I found out at that Mass that JPII had canonized St. Faustina and endorsed the DMC it was one more “sign” I was on the right track.

Have a beautiful Divine Mercy Day all who participate and are interested 🙂 God bless.Jesus I Trust in You.

Blessed be all those seeking your Mercy Lord. I’m very excited, I was asked to lead the Chaplet at our parish today. Hopefully I won’t get tongue tied! It is my FIRST Divine Mercy Sunday.

Its my favourite day of the year!! A chance to have my slate wiped completely clean, yaay! God is so good to us ❤️❤️

All the best April, will say a prayer it goes smoothly for you 🙂

My wife and myself are going to a local parish which is offering Divine Mercy Observances.

Confession and Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, between 2 and 3 followed by the Chaplet and Benediction.

I’m happy to be living in the era of St. Faustina and the Divine Mercy.
Along with St. Therese and maybe St. Padre Pio, it helps me worry a lot less, including about deceased loved ones.

Dear RKS89,

Thanks for your reply on this thread and more importantly your response to God’s Grace.

You are certainly not alone in your gratitude to St. JPII - so many of us have been blessed by his witness of holiness, especially during his last days of suffering.

Welcome back to the Glory of our Catholic Mass and to a deeper knowledge of Divine Mercy. In the Risen Jesus Who comes to us in Holy Communion, we can continually grow in our faith, hope and above all Charity!

May our Mother of Mercy, St. John Paul II, St. Faustina and all the saints continue to intercede for us that like them we may all learn to “Be Merciful as our Heavenly Father is Merciful.”

Thanks, dear Greenfields, April, and petitie_reverie for your replies!

Dear JimR-OCDS and wife,

Thanks for your reply. So happy to hear you will be participating in Divine Mercy Devotion as a couple. It is a beautiful witness to the sacredness of Marriage.

Dear Tis_Bearself,

Thanks for your reply. Yes, the Saints all give us examples of how His Divine Mercy can be received and shared! 🙂

Thanks for your reply, CajunJoy –

Yes, Jesus told us "Without Me you can do nothing! (John 15). By His grace may we keep remaining in Him, that we might grow in holiness!

at the begining, the Sister Faustine messages of divine mercy had comforted me a great deal. Today I am a bit skeptical about their authenticity so that i have practically abandon the devotion to divine mercy as proposed by the Sister Faustine

Well, the Divine Mercy Sunday is an official solemnity of the Church, so if you do not at least recognize the solemnity, you’re going against official teaching of the Church and of the Pope. Have fun with that.

Also, regardless of whether you believe St. Faustina, if you yourself want to not trust in Jesus’ Divine Mercy then you’re basically not trusting God. Which doesn’t sound like a good plan either.

the Sunday of Divine Mercy does not oblige us to believe in the private revelations of Saint Faustina
