With regards to Divine Mercy Sunday…if one has in good conscience repented of their known sins in preparation for Divine Mercy Sunday (during which Jesus has stated that He will shower His mercy to those who ask and remove all sins and punishment due to sin) and a few weeks later has remembered a sin committed years ago that was never repented (i.e., forgotten), is that sin still forgiven, if the person has been truly sorry for all their sins and asked for Jesus’ Divine Mercy on this feast day? Thank you!

The quoted section is the real question because the answer to it is the same whether we are talking about Divine Mercy Sunday or any instance in which we have gone to confession and later remembered sins that went innocently unmentioned.

The answer is yes, if that person honestly tried to recall and confess all sins that needed to be recalled and confessed, he has been forgiven of all his sins even if he later remembers a sin he innocently forgot. If the sin he remembers was a mortal sin, he should confess it the next time he goes to confession and simply let the priest know he forgot to mention it during his last confession.
