God is Divine. So, His Mercy is Divine Mercy.

“The Divine Mercy devotion” is perhaps what you are thinking of, started by St. Faustina and popularized by John Paul II.

One is talking about the mercy of God and the other is talking about a devotion to the mercy of God. The Divine Mercy chaplet, for example, is a devotion to the mercy of God.

I think that this is a good way of looking at it, and I also personally think that if you want to think of it this way, you can also think of the Divine Mercy chaplet as a way of calling upon God’s mercy.

Here is a link to the Marian’s website, regarding the Divine Mercy message, and what it means, if you would be interested in looking at it:

There is also information on the website regarding the Divine Mercy Chaplet, if you are also interested in praying it, too.

Through the chaplet of Divine Mercy we ask for God to have Divine Mercy on us. Jesus even said that those who pray the chaplet on their death bed or those who pray it near someone on their deathbed, that God’s mercy will envelope the persons soul.

I realize that I will probably anger a lot of posters here, but I must say that although I do pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy daily, I have several reservations about it. The prayer itself is fine, but I’m sorry, St. Faustiina Kowalska wrote several things that I consider to be very disturbing at best and at worst. blasphemous. She claimed that Jesus said that He wants her to be “co-redeemer” of mankind. WHAT!? Jesus DOES NOT NEED a co-redeemer! How DARE any human being make that claim!?

I know that i will likely incur the wrath of many people here, but blasphemy is blasphemy! Now I could be persuaded to give St. Faustina the benefit of the doubt by saying that in all likelihood that she suffered from mental delusions, but if that’s the case then perhaps the Chaplet of Divine Mercy is not what many people believe it to be.

I thought Mary was given the title of Co-Redemptrix?

I thought Mary was given the title of Co-Redemptrix?
Would care to tell me when and where God proclaimed that Mary is the Co-Redemptrix?

Did Jesus ever proclaim His mother Mary to be Co-Redeemer?

And even if you can show me that any member of the Holy Trinity proclaimed Mary to be Co-Redeemer of mankind, that still doesn’t make St. Faustina Kowalska co-redeemer just because she wrote that Jesus said that.

Again I know I may offend some people here on the board (i don’t mean to), but come on! St. Faustina Kowalska wrote a very disturbing line when she claimed that Jesus wanted her to be co-redeemer of mankind. At best, St. Faustina had mental problems; at worst, she was a fraud!
