I have a three volume copy of the Divine Office that I bought in Britain thirty years ago.
I haven’t used it very much recently for various reasons, including the fact that the pamphlet that tells you the dates to start seasons was out of date in 2000. I thought it ran out…

Question:
Is this one out dated now? can I still use this edition? In community?
Can I get a new pamphlet?
Can I use this one in Canada…how different are the country editions?
Should I invest in a new set?
Thanks

I don’t have a clue. Aren’t these books dated like “second week of Advent” or “eighth week of ordinary time” etc? Not having seen them, I don’t know. I know my “Christian Prayer” needs a guide to figure out what to read each day. Maybe you can glean some information here:

liturgyoffice.org.uk/Resources/Rites/RiteOffice.html

amazon.com/Divine-Office-Vol-v/dp/0007210914

bookofhours.org/

universalis.com/faq.htm#3 (This might be the same as your 3 volume set. Or not! )

The one thing your old brievary won’t have is the saints that have been added to the calendar.

The version of the Liturgy of the Hours that is approved for use in Canada is published by the Catholic Book Publishing Company. They offer both a one volume and a four volume version.

I’d recommend getting the one volume, and wait until the new translations are approved to buy the four volume set.

Thanks.
I think I’ll go for the single volume and then maybe keep the old one for just me.
