What does the word “(KOPH)” signify before some psalms & readings?
Does it stand for more than the 11th letter of the Hebrew alphabet
 
The psalms often (always?) have a letter at the top. In Hebrew letter could also signify words, and these words were meant to inspire the writer of the psalm.

For instance Koph means axe head hole - and axe head without a hole is merely a lump of metal.
 
I usually only notice it with Psalm 119, which is famously alphabetic acrostic (though Wikipedia mentions there are others).

Koph a letter in the Hebrew alphabet. Some Psalms use the alphabet to set apart sections.
