Does any lay people here pray the Divine Office by themselves? What do you use to help you?

As much as I love my faith and consider myself somewhat knowledgeable in it, I am rather confused by the Divine Office (I think there are other offices too, since I have read the phrase “Office of Our Lady” somewhere?) and I don’t know much about it. But I would like to learn more about it and possibly pray it in the future.

I usually pray Morning Prayer by myself, but my wife and myself say the Evening Prayer, together.

We use the 4 Volume Set of the Liturgy of the Hours, put out by the Catholic Publishing Company. However, for many years we used the single volume, Christian Prayer, The Liturgy of the Hours.

Most people can use the single volume, the Morning and Evening Prayers is the same as the four volume set.

Here is a web site that, for $30/year, will enable you to participate daily in the Divine Office

ebreviary.com

Because of eBreviary, I am now able to recite the Divine Office daily.:yup:

Another good resource is

liturgyofthehours.org/

They give the page numbers for Morning and Evening prayer only, but they are free

The other office you mentioned is actually known as The Little Office Of The Blessed Virgin Mary. Most catholic stores on-line will sell it. It is far simpler then the Divine Office, and many Catholics recite it for that reason. Others recite it out of devotion to Her. 👍
