I was a lapsed catholic and married my Jewish husband in a Jewish ceremony 30 years ago. When I came back to my Catholic faith 12 years ago I had us go through a convalidation ceremony. I recently found out the he has been unfaithful to me over these past 12 years and does not love me. If we decide to end our relationship do I need to seek an annulment? Thank you.

You need to be declared free to marry, if you plan to marry again. You don’t need anything if you plan to remain single.

Declaration of freedom to marry could be obtained through a decree of nullity. Since he is unbaptized, it could also be through a dissolution of the bond in favor of the faith.

I’m sorry you are going through this. Speak to your pastor and take it one step at a time. You are still married, so perhaps marital counseling could help.
