There are many religions who have strict rules on marriage, and yes I believe that the catholic church peobably is the strictest! I just sometimes do not understand how they figure out this annulment thing. How can anyone “pretend” that a marriage never took place? And don’t most people consider a marriage consummated, at least in part, when the couple has sexual relations? And whether or not one of the children turns out to be gay, doesn’t really factor in to the discussion.Marriage is a sacred institution established by God, and His desire is for one man and one woman to marry, live together and grow family, until death do them part! I am totally in love with that concept, but because we spend so much time in the flesh, worldly things distract us and we stray, even if it’s just with our minds or our eyes! Matthew 19:9 says that,“Any man who divorces his wife for any reason other than sexual immorality, is committing adultery, if he marries another.” What does this mean to you! And the thing about an innocent priest be judged unfairly, I can relate to that. Sometimes when a fellow correctional officer gets convicted of a crime, people tend to judge the entire profession! But what does ones sins have to do with God’s commandment? Let me ask you this, Lets say that yes there are 2 children from a union. And then years later the one hears that the other is gayThis is something that was hidden from the other, would you still claim this marriage was consummated?
Now lets talk about the Priest. What about the Priest that was not guilty. But is still judged by many.
God knows the truth. Many people love to judge eachother without knowing all of the facts.
Now back to the question. Yes I believe even in this day and age the CC holds a high standard to Marrriage.
I also do not see where Jesus states that a you can get a divorce for unfaithfulness. I believe that Jesus stated something about hardness of hearts!![]()
