well i am sorry my spelling offends you and i had felt i had worded the previous question wrong why do you feel the need to overpower me in my quest…thank you and God Bless
Posting repeating threads on ANY forum is kinda rude and annoying.
If you felt you didn’t word the last one right, you can either edit the post or just post a reply to your previous one clarifying yourself.

I don’t know what you mean by “overpower you” but posting duplicate threads is discouraged on the boards. Anyway, as stated by many on the other thread, your marriage is most likely regarded as valid by the Catholic Church and needs to be investigated to prove whether it is valid or null. As Lutherans do not have requirements for the form of a wedding ceremony (as far as I know) and even accept courthouse/city hall weddings as valid, then you are presumed to be in a valid marriage since you adhered to the form required by your denomination.

I don’t think a declaration of nullity is required for you to be received into the Church as a member, but it would be required before you could marry in the Catholic Church.

Lots of answers in your original thread. But the basic answer is that no one here knows or can tell you if you need a decree of nullity before you marry your fiance. You need to speak to someone in the Church. Start with your fiance’s priest. It is a very individual process.

no way to answer without knowing all the circs, each marriage situation is different. see the priest in the parish where you plan to take the RCIA sessions, and explain the whole situation with your first marriage, and your current circumstance.

Dear Michelle,

May God be blessed for your sincere faith.
I can understand your desire for your marriage to be valid.
I will pray that everything will work our well for you and your fiance. I know that you have a lot on your mind also, with the illness in your fiance’s family.

My best wishes, warmly, Trishie

Is there any priest you feel you can comfortably approach? Will your fiance accompany you. I realise he would have a lot on his mind with his mother so seriously ill.
I pray all will go well.
:hug3:

Hi Michelle-

Rest assured you will not be the first person that will have to “get things straightened out” on their way to joining the church - just like you are not the first to be treated rudely by the Forum Pharasies. I applaud you for taking the intelligent initiative to ask the same question in a couple of different topics in the event one or two of us do not read every post of every topic.

Good luck and God bless!

I guess I am a Forum Pharisee whereas you don’t feel you have to follow ANY of the forum rules… like the ones against namecalling?

After Carefully re-reading my reply back to you I do not recall any name calling…I came here for guidance and opinions from Christian based people not grammar lessons nor reprimands for posting twice…I feel no need to apologize for doing nothing wrong therefore if I chose to post its your perrogative not to read nor respond. Freedom of speech was how I was raised. I have been nothing but kind and looking for assistance nothing more

I was responding to the poster who did the namecalling… dconklin. Guess I should have been clearer.

Threads are discussions. They evolve and take turns over time. People make comments to and about other posters than the OP. I would think that if you read the comment just before mine, and then mine, it would be clear to whom I was responding, as I used the term he used. 🤷
