Thank you for the video recommendation, I’ve added it to my watchlist.

I do have the impression that it is coming from their A/G youth group.

We watched part of a video on Catholic communion (with Brett Salkeld) together this weekend. That went well. Afterwards, one of the boys made the comment that he wished there weren’t so many denominations. That touched my heart a bit, I think it was coming from the struggle they feel in being in a divorced family. 😦 Figuring out how to negotiate all of this in their best long-term interest isn’t easy…

I would remind him that Christ prayed for the same thing during His agony in the garden.

For me, that was the prayer that made me do historical research that landed me at the original Church.

Yes, I’ve found myself doing a lot of that kind of reading lately, as well as praying. I’ve learned a lot, but none of it would be of much help without praying to be in the right frame of mind when talking with them. I’ve been quite surprised at how well some things I’ve wanted to discuss with them have come together.

They have not been baptized in the Catholic church. (They were baptized in the Methodist church, and their mother has had them recently re-baptized in an Assemblies of God church.)
The catholic Church recognized the baptism made with water, sith the proper intention of baptism, even if they are made in a protestant Church.

They cannot recognized another re baptism.

That’s why oecumenism with the Assemblies of God is complicated.
