Hi…
Thank you for a great site.
I have recently been divorced and I am applying for annulment of my marriage. I have been studying for the Permanent Deaconate. In addition I am in my third year of doing my Bachelor of Theology degree. Both part time.
I have been seriously considering entering the Priesthood. My understanding is that if I am granted annulment, then I may enter the Priesthood. However, is it morally correct?
May God bless you and all who read this site.
Thank you.
Robert

Dear Robert,

By “morally correct” I assume that you mean just plain “moral.”
If your marriage is found to be null, then you weren’t actually married in the first place and are free to marry again or to seek ordination. The Church would certainly not allow you to be ordained a priest if it were not moral. You are in our prayers.
