how about smelly humans - some think, presumably that Jesus being God didnt and when He drank He only drank holy water etc - its not in the Bible some would say - twincIf dogs are in heaven, I bet the don’t poop, or if they do, it doesn’t smell.
FYI - Catholics do not use the Bible only. Someone has already quoted the teaching of St. Thomas on the subject. Please give me a specific part of the bible where you would reasonably interpret that animals are not in heaven. thank you.
Do animals show live faith as St. Paul discussed in the “requirements” to get into heaven? Please give me a specific part of the bible where you would reasonably interpret that animals are not in heaven. thank you.
If you think this proves that animals can not go to heaven, I fear you have proved too much. The same proof would exclude infants who can not show faith.Do animals show live faith as St. Paul discussed in the “requirements” to get into heaven?"
i really doubt they are literal horses… Some things in the bible are put into terms humans can understand…Then I saw the heavens opened, and there was a white horse; its rider was (called) “Faithful and True.” Revelations 19:11
I know that God has horses in His heaven.
Go with Love, Go with God
never heard of trees in Heaven… heard of flowers… but they are not like earthly flowers… except that thye are like earthly ones but 20 times better… or whatever…We know that there are trees in heaven, so it stands to reason animals would be there too.
God enjoys creating, He obviously enjoys variety in his creation, look at the universe. I doubt that heaven is a sterile place. Jesus didn’t say much about it, He said how will you understand things of the afterlife, if you don’t even understand what I tell you about this life? I forget the exact quote.
I’m with C.S. Lewis – if not this, then something better.
why don’t you show that thye are? Please give me a specific part of the bible where you would reasonably interpret that animals are not in heaven. thank you.
infants are created in God’s image…If you think this proves that animals can not go to heaven, I fear you have proved too much. The same proof would exclude infants who can not show faith.
I wonder if people realize that it is actually belittling heaven by “worrying” about whether we are going to be reunited with our pets . . .
People may laugh, but I was serious. Do you REALLY, WITH A STRAIGHT FACE AND A GOOD HEART, believe someone’s pot-belly pig is going to be in heaven with him if he makes it?
Once you allow for ONE animal, then what is to stop you from allowing ALL animals? And then insects? And then plants? And then rocks?
Don’t you see? You are making heaven out to be another Earth. It is not. Heaven is not a place up in the sky, just like hell is not “down” somewhere underneath our feet where people are being roasted on spits by demons.
Heaven is enjoying the beatific vison - seeing God in the face.
Hell is being separated from God forever.
I don’t know why this is so complicated to understand.
And to suggest that babies, because they don’t have faith, are on the same level as an animal because it doesn’t have faith is really sad.
A baby does not have faith because he or she has not reached an age of choice. An animal, no matter what age, can never have faith. THAT is the TRUE difference. Animals can never have faith, but babies can, ultimately.
Yes, and that is why the above proof is not any good. It proves something we know is not true. It is the exact same argument those who deny infant baptism use.so what if babies don’t have faith? They are created in God’s image…
But they have no essences of emotions, no experiences. What would they be in heaven? An infant forever in heaven? If they are simply created in God’s image? Same body appearance, is that all that is required? Their mind can’t be in that equation, not yet. It’s not developed yet.infants are created in God’s image…
