Do All Priests/Deacons/Nuns Believe in the Divine Mercy?

The private revelations to St. Faustina really are private revelations. But that God is merciful, wants us to ask for and trust in his mercy, and wants us to be merciful is not mere private revelation. Having a feast of Divine Mercy would make sense regardless what one thinks of the private revelation.

I agree, and I think that the priests should put their private opinions aside in favor of promoting His Mercy.

But there are many plenary indulgences. Especially in this year of faith. Did you want a mention of the indulgence for visiting the church of your baptism, or attending a parish mission, or studying the catechism, or for pilgrimages to special churches?

How about for special devotions, like the sacred heart, or praying the rosary, or praying the angelus, or nine first fridays, or the green scapular, or dedication to the heart of mary?

I can’t keep up with all of them. I just try to have a devotion to the mass and studying scripture and the catechism and the life and teaching of the saints.

These things should all be not only mentioned, but promoted in the life of a parish. That’s WHY there are indulgences attached to them - to encourage people to avail themselves of the most beneficial spiritual and devotional practices. The Christian life is much more than Mass on Sunday, as you know.

There is a plenary indulgence every day for devoutly reading the Scriptures continuously for 30 minutes, btw. Just pray for the Holy Father’s intentions before you start or after you finish, receive Communion daily and go to confession monthly, and you can receive a plenary indulgence every day.
