Do animals go to Heaven?

My dogs would be like "Hi Steve! Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! Hi! " While spinning around in circles.

My cats would put on their usual lofty attitude and say "About time our abject, humble slave showed up. OK, feed us, pet us, adore us, and let us continue to run your life here. ":rolleyes:

God loves every living thing he created. so I would say yes.

Oh what a happy thought! I laughed out loud when I read this. I can’t imagine such joy being left out of heaven.
 
My lab would probably jump on me and then say, “given me a few more walks, you might have gotten here sooner” 😉
 
I absolutely believe that our beloved animals will be waiting for us at heaven’s gate.

I think my dog Sam is sitting at the feet of Jesus waiting for a piece of steak to be tossed his way. I believe Jesus and all of the heavenly angels are caring for our pets and loving them until we can get there to do it ourselves.:rolleyes:

If Sam is waiting for you in Heaven…he’ll be a vegetarian…steak? I don’t think so.🙂

I sure hope they don’t go to heaven. I don’t want to be spending all of eternity with my two mean ornery cats.:mad:

Although the Catechism gets into the subject of animals having souls, it never says one way or another whether they will definitely be in Heaven or not. Why? Because the Church doesn’t know the answer because the answer has not been revealed to us yet.

What HAS been revealed to us is that at the end of time, there will be a new Heaven and a new earth and that leaves us plenty of room for HOPE that there’s a possibility God could give us back our pets at that time. After all, He created them and He loves them every bit as much as we do, if not more. 😉

You know God made ALL things, and If He made you, and me, and others, then how would He make rubbish? No, God made the animals in the first place and if you look in the book of revelations then you will see that there are an asortment of animals in Heaven.
If this is not true then there must be another God!!! If God made ALL things to His likeness ( and I know He did) then God did not make rubbish, ALL things will have a purpose.

God is LOVE and love does not make mistakes or rubbish or anything that is not to Loves own likeness, for it cannot, it is pure and it is whole. Love knows that there is nothing greater than love and so it recrates itself to the fashion it needs.

**I don’t think there is any biblical substantiation on this or teaching of the Church. Nowhere does either the Bible or Church teach that animals have souls. ‘Soul’ has always been understood to be the animating principle of the human being involving our emotions, intellect and formed personality. It envelops the ‘image’ that God has made us into - the immortal nature of the human person.

I suppose God in His infinite love could re-create the image and likeness of our beloved pets in Heaven. In some ways, I would expect it. 🙂 **
