This will seem crazy but three days ago our family pet cat was killed outside our house. As a family we were devoted to him and showered him with love - he returned this and was generally accepted as a member of the family. I don’t imagine anyone could fully understand this unless they had been in the same situation.
We are deeply affected by the loss, I prayed for him and the family yesterday at mass and would appreciate any support in this way, my real reason for posting is this: Do animals have souls? - would god have created such beautiful creatures without providing for an afterlife and a place for them in heaven?
I know this will seem mad but I believe it is a valid question.
