Do any of you seminarians or to-be seminarians do this?

This is slightly off-topic, well from the “post your favorite chasuble” contest started above (:D), haha, but have any of you seminarians/to-be seminarians been totally speechless in front of the Blessed Sacrament? Today during the Corpus Christi Mass, we had Exposition at the end, and as I was singing the “Tantum Ergo,” my mouth was at a loss of words for a second.

Me: “Down in adoration fall…oh my gosh…it’s Jesus!”…this great Sacrament we hail…"
priest takes Blessed Sacrament back to tabernacle
Me: “Pheww, pressures off.” 😃

Although during those moments of Adoration, I felt completely at peace, like all my worries had been taken away.

I think I know what you mean. Wonder and awe? Yeah definitely. One time after confession during a retreat, I got as close as I could to the host in the monstrance that was on the altar (kneeling on the steps to the altar) and I was completely infatuated! Of course, it was short lived, but that joy has been with me ever since 😃 O Lord, how beautiful you are! drool

This same thing happened to me on Thursday at a Eucharistic Festival of Praise concert-type thing. I wanted to get closer! 😦

I kind of felt him saying, “Do I really need to keep making things so obvious for you?” 😃

Sometimes I want to tell non-believers to go at Eucharistic Adoration for some time. After feeling His presence, can you really doubt He exists? 🤷

I need to go on a retreat badly. Those are always so spiritually uplifting for me. I’m actually going to a “Come and See” weekend in October at the seminary! 😃

The day I become a deacon, I’m going to ask my priest if I can hold a 48 hour Eucharistic retreat called “The Upper Room”.
It will include
First day:
  1. Breakfast, then morning session on Real Presence/transubstantiation.
  2. Lunch, then afternoon session on the Paschal Sacrifice.
  3. Confession, then mass and finally adoration (perpetual, all night)
    Second day (fasting):
  4. Morning session on reflection before the blessed sacrament
  5. Afternoon session on institution of the Eucharist, then light snack
  6. Letters, final words, then mass, and adoration (till bed time)
Then they go home the next day tired, drowsy, and in a state of near ecstasy 👍
I want to hold LOTS of retreats!

😃 I want to come!

When I get ordained to the diaconate, I’ll probably be in a state of “What am I getting myself into?” 😃 Then pass out…

Why, because of a rush of God’s infinite grace? … or because you realized “oh crud, too late now!”
:rotfl:

Alright, well I’m going to go finish painting my room and pray my divine mercy novena (starting tonight!) 😃
Good night all! Talk to you all hopefully tomorrow

Probably a mix of both. :D:D:D

Bishop: “Are you all right?”
Me: “Sort of…when does the priesthood ordination happen again?”
Bishop: “In about a year.”
Me: “A…a…a…a…year?” faints
Vocations director taps Bishop’s shoulder

Vocations Director: If you think this is bad, imagine what it will be like on the day of the priesthood ordination."

Yes, I do, a lot. 🙂

I’m 16, about to enter my last year of high school and I really, ehm… REALLY want to become a seminarian after finishing high school.

I haven’t talked to a vocations director, but I’ve been feeling this is the right thing to do for some time now, and all those daydreams just make me want it more. I pray and pray and pray for God to show me what’s His purpose for my life. It really fills me with joy to read what other to-be seminarians think about the priesthood. Please pray for me, I’ll pray for you too. 🙂

Hey if you’re ever interested in the Congregation of Holy Cross, feel free to ask me anything. Also, about the Old College Undergraduate Seminary, the University of Notre Dame, or Holy Cross College. 👍

Do any of you pre-seminarians get sad when Mass ends on Sundays? It’s kind of silly, but I do! Being a priest, I could celebrate Mass three-six times in a weekend plus during the week!

That would be truly awesome! 😃

I just found these on Youtube, and to be honest, I was close to tears for most of it.

Thats really really really really… really inspirational! When you start to get that calling, its like… wow. Me? Why ME, Lord? What have I ever done to be a supreme example of your virtue? ME, a little sinner? I’m not even a great and evil sinner either! I’m just a run of the mill catholic. But Lord, let your will be done, not mine. And then you close your eyes, and your heart gets that “overflowing” feeling. Like you want to give something extraordinary to God. You want to give him everything!

Just as the Lord has laid his life down for me, so I dearly and fully wish to lay my life down for him. :bighanky: ❤️

question for you to be seminarians would you wear the cassic as you daily preist wear or would you wear the military cloathing priest where. Pants Black button up and roman colar.

the cassic the robe and the roman colar.

I think I would wear the cassic but I don’t know really.

I would prefer the black pants/roman collar. To me, it looks a bit more angular and sharper. When you see someone running around in all black, you figure its either a robber, or a priest 😛
