I honestly always felt like the Vigil was more of a Catholic thing, but I got to thinking if anyone else in other faiths went to church tonight.

The closest one I would think would be Lutheran or Episcopal that might.

Some Anglican churches do. I know of one in London that is, however it is in the early hours of Easter Sunday.

There is a “Protestant” church that practices almost everything.

And it seems that some don’t like being labeled “Protestant” while some label themselves “Protestant”.

Depends on if you consider them Protestant but I know an Episcopal church near me has their Great Vigil of Easter tonight (Sat) at 730p in their parish hall. Another has their Great Vigil of Easter at 630am Easter morning. And yet another also has one at 730p tonight.

I know of one Luthran Church who has an Easter Vigil,no Easter Sunday services hoever

the Episcopal church I attended before becoming Catholic had an Easter vigil.

Anglo-Catholic churches, many broad-church parishes, and virtually all the cathedrals celebrate the vigil within the Church of England. I’ll be at one this evening.

Most Episcopal churches here in South Carolina have either a vigil for a very early Sunday morning service.

My parish likewise.

Not saying what protestants might do, of course.

Depends if you consider Anglicans to be Protestant, but many Anglican churches have Easter Vigils including my own. I’m actually being formally received at mine tonight along with the other baptisms, confirmations, and reaffirmations. 👍

congratulations!

Many Evangelical Protestant/non-denominational types around here are having Easter services on Saturday afternoon or evening recently. Not true “vigils” per se, but services to accommodate those who have Sunday family functions. There are even a couple of churches in town that have started regular Saturday evening services just to draw more people.
