Do Baptists pray the Rosary too?

I would have no idea why this lady is wearing one. My brother-in-law is now Baptist and he would never say the Rosary any more and makes all kinds of ugly comments about Mary when he is around my husband (his brother). He doesn’t say anything in front of me because he knows I will say something back and that would be the end of the visit with a long time before the next one. My daughter’s late mother-in-law still said her Rosary and prayed to her favorite Saints after she became Baptist - she switched for the fellowship at the church not for their beliefs.

She’s at a funeral, her child’s funeral. I’m sure her intentions were quite pure. I’m sure she was wearing it because she understood the connection to Mary, who also lost her child. Let the poor woman moarn, I have no problem with her wearing a rosary.

No problem, sorry. Yes, non-chrisitians should refrain from wearing the Rosary, as well as other christian symbols.

Thanks for all the insight! I certainly agree that Mrs. Thompson was using the rosary in trying times, for whatever the reason- to wear for comfort or to pray for comfort. I pray that her and her family find peace. I was heartened to see her wearing it and simply began to wonder…

I don’t think most do, a lot even consider it Blasphemous.
A few non-Catholic, christians do though.

Anglicans pray both the Catholic rosary and their own version.
Some Lutherans do too.
John Wesley, founder of Methodism, was an avid prayer of the Rosary.

As a Methodist, I pray the Rosary. What is the Rosary? It is a reflection on biblical events while repeating biblical facts. It offers great comfort.

I found it very interesting that the lady in the news, Somer Thompson’s mother, was wearing a rosary around her neck on several occasions. I’m assuming they are baptist because the funeral is being held in a Baptist Church.
Do Baptists also pray the rosary?

it could be many guests were Catholic. I have several Baptist in-laws in Chicago praying the rosary, they requested them during the illness of anothe relative, so I sent scriptural rosary books and rosaries, they specifically wanted rosaries blessed by the pope, which I have. They have fallen in love with it, they read the scripture verse for each bead, rather than saying the Hail Mary (not quite there yet) but pray the OF and doxology, so I am letting Mary take it from here. She already has my sister, married to the Baptist son of a Baptist minister, back in the Catholic Church, so she will handle it.

The first time I had prayed the Rosary I was still within the Protestant Church. I forget though whether I was within the Baptist Church if I had already left them for the Methodist Church at the time. But look where it led me. Home to Rome.

Why should we refrain from wearing other christian symbols? So your saying we can’t wear the cross? I can’t wear a bracelet with the cross and a prayer on it? A military chaplin can’t wear the cross on his uniform? We are not allowed to show that we are Chirsitians by wearing a Christian symbol? We can’t wear a cross earrings? I’ll give you the Rosary we should not wear it but sorry I could not disagree with you more on the other Christian symbols.
