Do Baptists really hate Catholics?

No. Having been baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church, I identified as a Catholic until coming here and I’ve had good Baptist friends. They did not hate me. And our family has a Baptist who married one of my Catholic relatives and she doesn’t hate anyone. One of the Catholics in the family wasn’t happy about the marriage but that was it.

As there was such intense publicity on the priest scandal in this diocese…a priest in good standing spoke out as well against the rampant free sex culture in this diocese. We have the highest rating of acceptable casual sex in the country, the allowance of pornography approximating family neighborhoods, and homosexual intrusion into hetero values…along with the hypocritcal indifference by the general population.

People have to think…95% of the celibate Catholic clergy do not practice sex abuse.

So they are condemning the priesthood of which 1% was guilty of pedophilia, the other 4% that of homosexuality.

But I think the onus is on Baptist and other protestant ministers who knowingly misrepresent Catholic teachings and beliefs to its members. I visited CARM for 2 hours. I wrote out what the Mass is and the post was deleted. The remarks and slurs were rampant.
I got kicked off of CARM for asking in reference to the Eucharist if they believed that Christ lied? It’s a bit more complicated of a narrative but essentially that’s it. They can say almost anything to a Catholic but when they are asked a simple question where they don’t have a good answer, their response is to remove the post or the person. They seem to be pretty sensitive to questions on the Mass and Eucharist…:frighten:

Bingo

(and not just in the Catholic sense) 😃

Somehow entering CARM, I could already sense the fire crackling…really…they asked who I was and when I said I was RC…they asked why…

I got a warning because I then told other Catholics not to spend their time there…and how their leader, Mr Slick, deleted as well St. Justin the Martyr’s description of the Mass.

I continue to get temptations to go back there…still preturbed…but cannot see any good coming out of a firebox like that.

I also wonder if they are some how connected with the old KKK…and I am not referring to good Baptists…but the deviant…of which exist in any organization.

Also, I meant to add that the other problem in our country is that it is simply oversexed and overfed and we are now seeing the hoarders on tv…

Materialism and the flesh have taken the place of God.

Prejudice works in all directions - sadly. There are Catholics and Protestants who feed on prejudice against other faiths, and we see some of that here on CAF. The worst examples aroound the world today, of course, are Muslims - those extremists who are gungho in asserting that their faith alone is the only fully true faith. Sound like a familiar claim, anyone?
yes

Fundamentalist Baptists in the south, at least in the past, were always on good terms with KKK. BJU has a wing of their campus named after a Klan grand dragon.

I just think CARM is emotionally based. I saw one thread how the Catholic Church castrates people, referring to the case in Holland, and the retort was the Church authorities…meaning all the way back to Rome, supported that. You don’t hear either about the person(s) and behaviors either.

You can’t get anywhere there…and the sneers…it is better to avoid it.
