Do bishops have authority to prohibit Communion on the tongue?

It’s sad also that we are in such a crisis. Many Catholics are upset and are leaving the Church more the ever. We absolutely need to be praying for our Church and be understanding when we hear that the Catholic laity are upset.

This directly affected me today… we were forced to receive in the hand.
You are being forced to receive in the hand, when the option of receiving on the tongue has been removed, thus leaving you with no choice if you wish to receive Jesus sacramentally.

All the comments by posters stating their views on how they wish to or not wish to receive communion, isn’t always them having the interior motive of considering themselves more holy/pious than others. But just that for them, they believe it is the right way to receive communion - and their choice should be respected without all the insinuations or belittling or questioning or double meaning comments directed at them here on this board.

It is Lent, and some of the comments I’ve read on this forum since the concerns over communion have been raised read at the least as being uncharitable and judgemental.

And you are just as entitled to express your opinion here the same as others do.

Of course! Sadly, though, there is a brand of Catholics out there who are profiting from every scandal (again, real or imagined). Anyone who claims that all bishops are enemies is leading Catholics astray.
