Just to clarify, which one do you think would not be a big issue, facing away from the faithful or switching back to Latin?Latin is a whole other issue. I agree that where there is no sounds system, or back when there was no sound system, this would be a legitimate issue.
I still do no think this would be a big issue for most Catholics, especially if the theological reason was taught and if it was not presented as papal fiat. Most Catholics that get upset over little things have left, or will leave over something. That is the seed that grew up with roots.
If it is facing away from the faithful, I believe it would be generally accepted with significant amounts of grumbling in the process if it were properly taught and explained. If you are referring to Latin, then I disagree strongly. I think that would be a major issue that would deeply upset a great many people.
