Do Catholic purchase Mass cards?

Hi There

Can you help me please. I would like some info on Mass cards. I am a Protestant but I have been discussing this topic with a Catholic friend (UK) who says that Catholics do not purchase Mass cards. Is this true? Thanks
 
Dear S,

Catholics do not purchase Mass cards. However, they do make an offering when asking that the priest pray for a particular intention of theirs when he offers Mass. The card simply is a token of this. The offering is to help pay for the bread and wine and candles, etc. that are needed for Mass. If the person cannot afford to make an offering, the Mass will still be offered.
