There’s two different sets of “rules.” There’s Church laws and then there’s moral laws.
Church laws are things like no meat on Fridays of Lent, need to be married in a Catholic church, etc.
Moral laws are things like the 10 commandments, abortion, etc.
Non-Catholics are not expected to follow Church laws. Moral laws are binding on all of humanity. Your culpability *may *be greatly diminished because of the lack of a proper formation, but they are still things that should be confessed.
