Some Catholics do.
Search the forums regarding praying in tongues, you will find many topics.

PS: you don’t have to capitalize every single word. It is hard to read sometimes. Also, read the rules about using word. 😉

For starters, all Catholics ARE Christians.👍

Next, perhaps you heard Priests speaking in Latin? It still happens occasionally.

Finally, there is no big deal about speaking in tongues. Some Catholics do it, some non-Catholic Christians do it, and just about every other spiritual path in the world has followers who do it. They may call it different names, of course. “Shamanic Journey”, for example. Various trance-like states. A Wiccan may “Draw Down The Moon”. And so on and so forth.:harp:

Could they be speaking in Latin? (i.e., if you were listening to a Mass on EWTN)

Speaking in tongues is not part of Catholicism. And if you cant understand what the priests are saying, they are probably speaking in the most holy Latin language.

May God’s peace, love and mercy be with you all!

Speaking in tongues is one of the extraordinary gifts of the Holy Spirit and is in the heart of the Catholic Church.

The gifts of the Holy Spirit are given to us for the strengthening and edification of the Church.

God bless! Have a joyous, grace and Holy Spirit filled Easter!

Blessed be Jesus and Mary!

Most Protestants who “speak in tongues” aren’t actually speaking in tongues at all. What’s the difference between Bible ‘tongues’ and Evangelical ‘tongues?’

Bible ‘tongues’ — Real spoken language
Evangelical ‘tongues’ — Whatever jibberish first comes to mind.
