Hi, I am a Protestant exploring the Catholic faith and have many questions. Am looking forward to finding out more! I’ve heard it said among those that defend Marian doctrines that Mary is venerated but not worshiped. In looking at various prayers and catholic sources, I see language that suggests otherwise - language that seems to ascribe deity to her – for example, prayers for her protection and healing. Mary can’t protect us, since she does not possess deific power. Would someone please explain this? Thank you!
