In most Churches of the Constantinopolitan tradition (“Byzantine”) the Passion is divided into 12 separate accounts from all four Gospels separated by various liturgical proper hymns. This is done at the Matins of Great and Holy Friday, usually anticipated on Thursday Evening, and is frequently called “Passion Matins”.
