Do good deeds always count?

so it doesn’t matter whether you offer your good deeds up specifically for Christ (as per St Mt 25:31)?

there he says that whatever we do for the least of his brethren, we do for Him… so if we do something for a Christian, we are doing it for Him… whether offered up as such or not???

but then some of us are so used to offering stuf up that … it kinda “goes w/o saying” when we do this or that, right??
Jesus identified himself with all men, especially the poor and afflicted. I don’t think its about doing things for Christians. When we are merciful to others we serve Christ.

  1. The early church did good for the NON-christian (Love thine enemies).
  2. My morning prayer begins:
“O My God, I offer you all my acts works joys and sufferings this day” so that should cover the hypotheses offered in this thread.
