Do I even have a religion?

Greetings.
Over the last 7 years I have been interested in Islam.
And here lately I feel like Islam lifted the veil of mysteries that the church has shrouded me with; but I am not sure if this is the right way to go. I feel Islam has many unanswered question ; but in my eyes so does the church. I really am confused when it comes to religion. I feel it is all difficult and hard to grasp. I don’t doubt in God but the rest seems to be fuzzy at times.

I am unsure id Jesus really said he was god and even if the bible is accurate.
I am unsure Islam is true? But what hard is it to just belive in GOD?
I really am ready to give it all up and just “BE”. I am tired of the endless madness religion has given me. Some days I cannot think because it just makes me crazy.

Any help from converts or reverts appreciated.
I have recently read a book about Islam by a Muslim who after a lot of reading and studying converted to Catholicism.

And it really boils down to this: were all Muslims to read the Koran and implement what it teaches anyone not a Muslim would be dead by now (they actually get a reward by doing this). The only thing good is that reason prevails after all and they realize that they cannot follow what the Koran teaches. But were those who truly believed in the Koran to gain hegemony over us all, the option with be death or be a Muslim.
This is why in truly Muslim countries, Christians cannot even practice their faith and yet when they come to Christian countires, they demand that they be allowed to practice theirs.

But if all Christians were to follow what is written in the Bible and follow Christ in love of neighbor even unto death, it’s a totally different scenario.

The only thing I can say is pray. God is a God of mercy and and
God of love. He knows what you are going through.

Ask for the gift of faith and the gift of humility. Very often, it is the lack of humilty that stops us from seeing the way that God is showing us. But this I am sure He would be most happy to give if you ask for it. And then give yourself a break from all that analyzing and just BE.

Sometimes, the answers come when we’re not chasing after them.

It makes me crazy to think about it!
I have spent the last 15 years worried about “which” path is to God and I feel like I have gone insane! Its all I think about. Day and nite, no joke. I cannot spent the next 40 years doing this. I am ready to give it all up just to get some peace in my life.

Thanks for the help.
I am assuming that you are Catholic. If I am correct in that assumption, here is a practical suggestion.

Spend an hour before the Blessed Sacrament. You do not need to pray. Just BE before the Lord. If you are now doubting that He is even present, it doesn’t matter. Just BE before the Lord (even if you think it is not the Lord). Maybe a little prayer like " I am really tired God if you can hear me. And I want to know the way."

Try to do this for 9 days. Just BE before Him who Loves you more than you can ever know (even though you do not believe that at all right now).

I will keep you in my prayers. It can’t be too happy, the place you’re in right now.

:console:

I don’t really have any advice, but I do have a request…convert to anything but Islam…anything!!! Become a Catholic, Mormon, Hindu, Scientolgist…hell become a freaking Wiccan; but please please please don’t curse this planet with another Moslem. The last thing we need is another Mohammed worshiping, woman hating, infidel killing, member of a religion that appears to be permanately stalled in the dark ages in all areas save bomb making and effigy burning. Look, the book of Mohammed (AKA The Koran) is a book that is nothing more than the insane ramblings of a man who by all historical accounts was nothing more than a warmongering mad man. He was a warlord who delivered his maggot ridden faith to all of Arabia at the end of a spear. For God’s sake man, he married a six year old girl and had her preganant by age 9!!! This is the man who invented the religion you want to join!
Sure Moslem peach some commonsense type wisdom: alcohol is bad, don’t use drugs, raise you children to be good martrys…etc., but you don’t need to become a head bobbing moron just to live a clean life. Be your own man!
Allnamesused You just made yourself sound like the biggest Christian Extremist ever. Not all Muslims are crazy child molesters like you view them as. I have a Muslim who was born of a Muslim father and and a Christian mother. Needless to say his parent’s marriage did not last long and now he lives with a his father, who is a strict and honorable person. I will defend most Muslims (unless they themselves are extremists), even if I do not agree with their views on Yeshua Messiah (Jesus Christ). And to answer the question of this thread no, do not become Muslim.

I think what Allnamesused was trying to get accross is not so much how most Mulims live in actual fact but the basis for their belief. I think a lot of Muslims have not even really read the Koran. I find it troubling that were they to actually follow what the Koran teaches then we are in real big trouble. It is only because they in a sense do not live their faith fully that there has not been more violence perpetuated against non Muslims. It is precisely because many do not follow the path of Muhammad that there are many good Muslims today.

Specifically, what did I say about Islam that you disagree with?

I’ve been there buddy, I know what you mean. I was raised Protestant but always felt there was something wrong with the lack of history in Protestant Churches.

For 10 years I spent wandering without a religion to follow by, I had always thought Catholicism was for crazy people who wanted to be religious but at the same time sin and say I’m sorry, ironically that’s how some Protestant Churches are.

I can tell you now, that I finally took a glance at Catholicism and fell in love with it, it is the home I have always looked for.

I have not started RCIA classes yet, but I cannot wait.

What a great little biography you have on your profile.
And the Body of Christ has been waiting for sometime for you too, to come home. Welcome.
