Do I have the holy spirit before baptism?

I feel God’s presence, I feel drawn to Him, I’ve seen so many signs…so am I imagining this if we receive the holy spirit by baptism? or is this incorrect? I mean, we can only come to God by Him drawing us to Him, so isn’t this the holy spirit? I’m very confused.

Baptism is done with water in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit so the answer is that when you are baptised you receive the Holy Spirit.

By baptism we may be certain we have received sanctifying grace which is the indwelling presence of God within us in His own person.

In fact adults, at baptism, may already have been in such a state of grace beforehand if they had lead just lives and not committed any unrepented mortal sin up until that point.

For babies, we do not know but have a reliable trust in God’s mercy should they die.
