Do I have to choose a baptismal name or can I use my present name?

If you are in RCIA you will asked to choose a confirmation saint name. I’ve never heard of choosing a baptismal name in RCIA. It does not change your given name in any way. My given name is exactly the same as before I was confirmed.

We weren’t asked. I feel honestly short changed about my RCIA experience and if the end result wasn’t so worth it I’d be seriously P… d off even now.

You can select a patron saint any time. You can pick one right now. It doesn’t have to be at baptism or confirmation.

I chose John Paul. But I am still cross that if it was down to my priests I could be a catholic without even making a confession
