As a manager, one of the least desirable aspects of the job is having to fire an employee. Although there is a justifiable reason, I cannot help but feel guilty. Do I need to confess this or discuss this with my parish priest?

You would only need to confess terminating someone’s employment if you did so without just reason. However, if you are uncertain whether or not you have just reason, that might indeed be something to discuss with a confessor or spiritual director before termination (if possible).
