I am going to be married on a Saturday at 10 AM and was wondering if the priest can give a dispensation to my fiancee and me so that we are not obliged to go to the next day’s Sunday Mass.

If you and your new wife are traveling immediately after the wedding on your honeymoon, yes, you probably could receive a dispensation from the Sunday obligation for reasons of travel. (Of course, unless they were also in the midst of travel to or from your wedding, other family and guests would not receive such a dispensation though.)

But why on earth would you not want to go to Sunday Mass the next day and make time in your honeymoon schedule to allow for it? A Catholic speaker once told a beautiful story of how, on the day after his in-laws’ marriage, his mother-in-law noticed tears in her new husband’s eyes during Sunday Mass. Afterward she asked him why he had been crying and was told, “Honey, now I truly understand Christ’s words, ‘This is my body, which will be given up for you.’”
