This might be a silly question, but here it is. When I say my morning and evening prayers, I sit in my chair. Do I need to be on my knees? I feel guilty. Thank you.
For private devotions, you’re free to pray in any manner that you find most conducive to prayer. While many people prefer to pray on their knees because it is conducive to showing reverence, kneeling is only required when it is mandated by the rubrics at Mass. Even then, if you have a physical difficulty that prevents you from kneeling, you are free to sit instead.
