Do I keep conversing with a friend who is homosexual?

I have a phone friend I have known since the 70’s who has become a homosexual, though not practicing; he says he believes the Bible was mis-translated about homosexual acts being considered sinful–he claims to be Christian—he was a preacher’s son and my childhood neighbor. Do I continue to communicate with him or not? I do care about him. We are just friends. He is not Catholic. Thank you.
