The brown scapular has two rectangles but one has vanished from mine.

It’s torn off?

See if you can get a replacement for it. If not, invest in a new one.

It seems like you need a new Brown Scapular. However, DON’T throw out the old one! Blessed objects (e.g. Scapular, medal, rosary) are either burned or buried. NEVER throw out anything blessed.

It is quite simple to buy a new one and get it blessed and wear it. I go through one every 6 months on average.

Yes I will get a new one but for now I found an old broken one and added one of the rectangles to the one that I am wearing.

Regarding the blessing, once you have been invested once in a blessed Scapular, then should you need to replace it, it’s my understanding that you do not need to get the replacement ones individually blessed. The original blessing you got will transfer to all the replacements you wear, or if you have a backup scapular and switch them off (for instance when one is in the laundry, you wear the other one), the blessing will cover whichever one you happen to be wearing.

Well done.
We always get new sacramentals blessed. This is different to being invested in the Scapular. There is some question about being invested these days, as it comes with requirements and obligations that may or may not be met.
It is the same as using different rosaries, we always get new ones blessed.
We bless houses once a year or so.

It is fine to do so.

There’s no question when you have the Brown Scapular investment done at a Carmelite monastery, where it is also quite easy to learn from the Carmelites about the requirements that devout Catholics try to meet.

These days there are many who choose to wear the brown scapular that do not have links with the Carmelites, and would not follow the requirements of investiture.
There are devoted devout Catholics that desire to wear the Scapular without affiliation to the Carmelites. As such I have read in its catechism, which has indeed been posted to CAF on several occasions, that the Carmelites are advising that the investiture is not required in these cases and advisably not done, in fact, avoided.
This is because to wear the Scapular, is to be associated with the Order. This is a matter of some gravity.

A link to the catechism of the Brown Scapular, now I have time

and the relevant section pasted here

Is it necessary to enroll people in the Scapular Confraternity for them to share in the spiritual benefits attached to the scapular?

No, those who wear the scapular out of devotion, practice the Order’s spirituality, yet who have no formal association to the Order share in a spiritual affiliation to the Carmelite Order. It gives them the assurances of the graces pertinent to this sacramental. Indiscriminate enrollment in the Scapular Confraternity or other such associations weakens the purpose and mission of those associations and should be avoided.
