Do I need to get rebatized to rejoin the Catholic Church?

What does a former Catholic, who has been baptized in another Christian faith, need to do to return to the Church as a full participating member
 
You are baptised forever as a Catholic.

What you need to do is to go to Confession and confess the serious sins you remember.
And if you have married outside the Church you will need to have your marriage made valid through Sanatio or ceremony

Yup - that first baptism in the Catholic church was your birth into Christ. It is indelible. You can no more sever that link to the Catholic church than you can deny your birth parents whose DNA runs through your veins.

You do need to go to confession - including mentioning having gone through a form of baptism in another church. It may or may not have been a sin, but for your own peace of mind admit what you did to God.

So, if a person was baptized as an infant in the Catholic church, but it stopped there, never went to a catholic church a day in their life, and even joined a few other churches in their lifetime, they are STILL Catholic for life?

Yes. They’re just really BAD Catholics. 😉

It also should be mentioned that the Church recognizes non Catholic Baptisms as valid so long as the form and intent are correct (which is true of most Protestant Baptisms)
 
You could also attend some classes to get back to knowing about your faith. My brother wanted to be confirmed in the CC, he left for awhile but wanted to give something back when he came back, so he took just 6 classes, while converts must take much more. He was just a lapsed Catholic who will be confirmed or “renewed” in the church at Easter Vigil. Than you Lord!

Yes, but you would need to go through confirmation prior to receiving communion.
