Do I need to have my Baptist marriage validated?

I am converting to the Catholic faith and will begin RCIA this year. My wife and I were married four years ago by a Baptist minister. We are both baptised but she has decided to remain Baptist at this time.
I spoke with a deacon from one parish who told me that my marriage would have to be validated in the church. I asked a priest from another parish and he told me that we didn’t have to do anything.

Which is correct?:confused:

The Catholic Church recognizes the baptisms of most non-Catholics who use the Trinitarian formula as valid–and if they are baptized, it considers such marriages to be sacramental as well. Your deacon needs to know this. It’s pretty basic. Welcome home!
