Do I receive the blood of Christ on my knees?

Our parish priest recommended receiving the body of Christ in the same way as the Pope offers it to communicants at his Masses. So I started receiving the body of Christ on my knees and on my tongue. At our weekday Mass the blood of Christ is also given. I’m not sure whether I should be on my knees or standing when I receive from the cup. Thanks for any advice.
 
Unless the pastor makes some sort of special arrangements to enable communicants to receive from the chalice while kneeling (e.g., providing a kneeler), I do not recommend kneeling on your own to receive from the chalice. Without adequate support, such as the armrest of a kneeler, kneeling on your own makes you far more susceptible to spilling the precious blood.
