in the past 9 months i have recieved the sacrament of the sick twice so does that absolve all my sins up to that point?

yes, bearing in mind that if the sick person is able to confess they should do so before receiving the anointing. But if you did not, the sacrament still works and all your sins were forgiven.

No, that is not right.

If you are in a state of mortal sin, you should go to the Sacrament of Confession before receiving ANY other Sacrament, including Anointing of the Sick. If you are too sick to make a Confession (say unconcious or on deathbed), then Anointing covers forgiveness of your sins. Otherwise, you need to go to Confession first.

If you are in a state of venial sin, your sins are forgiven through Mass.

That only applies if a proper confession is not possible.

Confession usually preceeds anointing–indeed it should. If you weren’t conscious at the time, the priest might have imparted absolution (do you know if he did?)

To answer the question you posed with the title of the thread, yes you do need to go to confession (that’s not meant to judge the state of your soul, but to describe the way the sacraments function).
