Do Jehova Witnesses really believe THIS?

As a Lutheran, I most always hit them with the question that if they were to die today, would they know for sure that they would go to heaven? I can say that and most of those JWs with whom I speak cannot answer with certainty.

That is a good question, but sadly it has little impact on a JW. They do not understand what Heaven is at all. They have been indoctrinated to think that heaven is not what they want. So when someone speaks of going to Heaven around them, the JW is thinking in their head, “this person doesn’t know that Heaven is only for a select few, they really mean they want to be resurrected to paradise earth.” Sometimes they probably don’t feel like explaining this whole thing because it takes time and in reality is not really easily proven from scripture. They have taken it almost on faith that their leaders are correct. They use like 2 passages that are easily refuted to teach the 2 hopes.

Perhaps they cannot answer because they believe that only 144,000 will go to heaven? They are not aware that it is a symbolic number.

Unless they changed that belief, they believe that all the rest of the saved will live on the earth, and instead of hell the others will be annihilated.
