There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Yetzer hatov of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death.
For God has done what the law, weakened by the Yetzer hara, could not do: sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful Yetzer hara and for sin, he condemned sin in the Yetzer hara, in order that the just requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the Yetzer hara but according to the Yetzer hatov.
For those who live according to the Yetzer hara set their minds on the things of the Yetzer hara, but those who live according to the Yetzer hatov set their minds on the things of the Yetzer hatov. To set the mind on the Yetzer hara is death, but to set the mind on the Yetzer hatov is life and peace.
For the mind that is set on the Yetzer hara is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, indeed it cannot; and those who are in the Yetzer hara cannot please God.
But you are not in the Yetzer hara, you are in the Yetzer hatov, if in fact the Yetzer hatov of God dwells in you. Any one who does not have the Yetzer hatov of Christ does not belong to him.
But if Christ is in you, although your bodies are dead because of sin, your Yetzer hatov are alive because of righteousness.
If the Yetzer hatov of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Yetzer hatov which dwells in you
So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the Yetzer hara, to live according to the flesh – for if you live according to the Yetzer hara you will die, but if by the Yetzer hatov you put to death the deeds of the body you will live.
For all who are led by the Yetzer hatov of God are sons of God.
For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Yetzer hatov of sonship. When we cry, “Abba! Father!” : it is the Yetzer hatov himself bearing witness with our Yetzer hatov that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him…
