Do local elections carry moral weight?

😳 I didn’t think that was ever the case. (I am assuming you are in the US by my comment.) If so, that is eye opening, and seems to be unfair.
 
I would hope that everyone would get to know their local candidates, local issues, and their positions on those issue. We vote for candidates, not parties.
Yes I get that. My only slight excuse is that I am somewhat new to the area, so I’m very much out of the loop when it comes to local politics.

Regarding the ballot, I incorrectly assumed each candidate would have have their political affiliation listed, and that would do the job for me. Out of my own laziness I didn’t read up on the local people who I now realized were “bipartisan”…my mistake.

Regarding voting for candidates vs party, I get the idea, but I would never willing vote for a democrat. The party of pro choicers, pro LGBT, pro government sticking their nose in your business would never willing get my vote. Despite actual things or policies they would intact, someone who attaches their name to that party is enough for me not to support them. I would be too wary of them.
