Do males wear ball caps, beanies and/or hoodies during Mass at your parish?

Ranks up there with a woman and 2 children wearing shorts and walked right center aisle to the front pew with burgers, fries and drinks while the Bishop who was visiting said mass.

Or, when I was spending my one hour as custodian of the Blessed Sacrament at the adoration chapel one evening, a lady came in with her ChiTzu who was very silent in her arms. It was for a challenge as she was more interested in what I would do than focus on why she was there. I presume she was told before. I did nothing, but I was afraid “poopsi” would have an urge on our spotless rug or start whining.
What is a custodian of the Blessed Sacrament?
Do you mean an adorer? Or is it something different? Just curious. I ve never heard that word if it means a different role at the Adoration Chapel.

I’ve seen a guy wear a beanie at Mass. He’s a very holy man who is special. He attends Mass and daily Mass as often as he can. He is also very humble and friendly.

Were they actually Catholics or is your parish a tourist attraction?

Someone used to do precisely that with a (non-service) dog at Mass. It finally bit someone and that was finally that.

Well, go ahead and wonder about it. Those with the office to make binding decrees on these matters do not find it rises to such concern. That doesn’t keep you from thinking about it; I just mean that the Church is free to allow customs to vary.
I’m just curious why there are customs that seem to slam directly into scripture is all?

The Scripture directly says the bishops have the authority to bind and loose these customs, so there isn’t a slam.

It’s hard to look at the thread independently, as the OP has a number of threads along a similar theme. (Things that are wrong with his parish, or others, or the people in them or the people who run them.) He asks a seemingly innocent question and then throws insults at those who disagree with him. A good number of his threads are closed by moderators and he was recently on a suspension.
Indeed.
In addition, the poster has a much longer history of CAF than his username reveals. Am I the only one to recognize him? He’s been banned more times than I can keep count of. In violation of forum rules, he comes back each time with a new identity. Sooner or later, his strident style and grating criticism of his priests and fellow laity give it away, along with a few key details he eventually mentions. I kind of make a game out of seeing how quickly I can recognize him. This time, it took 121 posts for me to suspect and 124 for me to be sure.
You are not the only one to have that realisation.

Yes , homeless people come into Mass wearing anything they can to keep warm.

There’s that tired excuse I expected from at least someone. Wearing ball caps in the sanctuary is extremely noticeable, as is the guy in the communion line with a ball cap on. It’s also offensive.
Horton;14782781:
Do you mean the nave? The sanctuary is where the alter is, a couple of steps (or more) above the nave, which is where the parishioners sit. Generally only protestants call the whole worship area the sanctuary. Here is a site where you can increase your knowledge of Catholic Church building structure. stpeterslist.com/10-architectural-terms-all-catholics-should-know
Considering he was talking about Confirmation candidates in front of the community, I’m pretty sure he wrote exactly what he meant, the sanctuary. His OP contained this line: “When the candidates for confirmation stood before the faithful inside of the sanctuary, two of the teen males were wearing ball caps”

In the military you still remove your hat upon entering a building if you are unarmed, however if you are armed (carrying a service weapon) you keep your hat on. Everytime I see a man where a hat inside I assume he is carrying a concealed weapon.

If my boys wear a hat inside I tell them to remove it but I’ve never seen it as my place to inform anyone else to remove their hat. It seems very unimportant

I generally roll my eyes at people being overly uptight, but I’m with the OP on this one. Maybe it’s just because I was in the military and wearing a hat indoors immediately feels wrong to me, but it feels especially off in church. I’m not saying people need to wear suits and evening gowns or anything, but things like baseball caps and ratty cut-off shorts probably belong more at the beach than Mass.

Yes.

It’s not unusual here. Usually men who are bald/long messy hair wear a cap.

Hoodies are common too. I wear a hoodie. I get cold easily in air conditioned places.

Like what the other poster said…stop finding fault I’m everything.

If it wasn’t for finding fault, Solomonson wouldn’t have anything at all to do at Mass.

I’ve never seen men wearing hats, even the teenage boys. No hoodies either assuming you mean with the hood up.
