“One God in three persons” !!! could someone please explain this to me.
thanx

It means exactly what it says. God is made up of three persons. They are Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

Thanx brother for the clarification.
But out of curiosity now…what about the wife and Mother (Mary pbuh)?. I mean if she’s the Mother of the Father’s only Son, Then shouldn’t God be made of Father, Son, Holy Spirit, and Mother?.

No. That would be like saying that since you knew Tiger Woods was black, you could automatically deduce that not only was his father black but his mother would have to be as well. It’s the same faulty reasoning in both cases.

Oh geez, I’m surprised I didn’t even catch this at first. Mary is not believed by Christians to have been God’s “consort”, despite what is written in the Quran. I don’t know if this is what you were trying to imply with the word “wife” but now at least you know either way.

In this logic you're using it's as if you're saying that Jesus is like Hercules (half God, half man).

If this isn't what u meant, then i'm sorry i apologize, but I just can't accept the idea that the Father (God) used a pure 100%human being (Mary) to have a Son (God), and the son will be pure God no human Genes involved.

This brings a lot of questions to my mind, if the Father wanted a 100% God Son then couldn't he just create him like he did with adam, instead of using clay he'd have used i don't know "God matter" maybe.

I know people tend to use the word “half” in terms of people with mixed ancestry, which is one of the stumbling blocks of that analogy. Instead of “half” of certain ancestries, I always tend to think “both”, but that’s just me.

In any case, percenages don’t play a part in any of this. We believe Jesus was both 100% God and 100% man at the same time. He’s not “part-God, part-man” or anything like that. Those two attributes of Christ (his divinity, and humanity) aren’t seen to necessarily contradict each other.

FYI, the mistaken doctrine of Jesus being “part-God, part-man” was actually addressed and refuted in the fifth century. People who held to this belief were called Monophysites.
Monophysitism originated as a reaction to Nestorianism. The Monophysites (led by a man named Eutyches) were horrified by Nestorius’s implication that Christ was two people with two different natures (human and divine). They went to the other extreme, claiming that Christ was one person with only one nature (a fusion of human and divine elements). They are thus known as Monophysites because of their claim that Christ had only one nature (Greek: mono = one;* physis* = nature).
Orthodox Catholic theologians recognized that Monophysitism was as bad as Nestorianism because it denied Christ’s full humanity and full divinity. If Christ did not have a fully human nature, then he would not be fully human, and if he did not have a fully divine nature then he was not fully divine.

Which part of what I said does all that refute, exactly?

EDIT: Never mind, I noticed you edited your post.

I was talking about this verse, specifically, that talks about what Mohammed thought that Christians believed:
*006.101 *
YUSUFALI: To Him is due the primal origin of the heavens and the earth: How can He have a son when He hath no consort? He created all things, and He hath full knowledge of all things.
PICKTHAL: The Originator of the heavens and the earth! How can He have a child, when there is for Him no consort, when He created all things and is Aware of all things?
SHAKIR: Wonderful Originator of the heavens and the earth! How could He have a son when He has no consort, and He (Himself) created everything, and He is the Knower of all things.

how do you feel when you hear that someone out there is saying that God has a wife? think about it.

You dont believe He has a wife, but you believe He has a son. In Islam, really there is no difference…father, mother, son, daughter, wife, uncle, aunt. All of it makes no sense. God is ONE, alone.

WHen reading that verse, i had always thought (and God knows best) that it was meant to show the Christians how propesterous a claim they make…they God has a son…when at the same time, they think its crazy for Him to have a wife.

God is self-sufficient. He needs no one, not Mary, not Jesus, not Mohamed, not you, not me. He is ABOVE having a son, a mother, a daughter, a wife, a brother. That is why HE is GOD, and we are His slaves.

Luckily we are not slaves. We are the Children of God. God is our heavenly Father. We have close relationship with Him. I feel sorry for you who still a slave. No wonder as your prophet is a slave master after all.

It only shows that Muslims don’t understand the terminology being used when we say “son” of God. They seem to keep limiting themselves to the same assumptions over and over as to what exactly Christian terminology MUST be referring to. This kind of thing is all over the Quran.

Excuse me? whats wrong? aww I like this!. let me tell you. IF God himself willing to make himself as our heavenly Father… Raise us up, stay beside us… not above us… we become the Children of God… why would we stay being slave?.. relationship between slave and master is in muhammad minds not ours. we believe in Loving and Living God, thus we are Father and the Children.

Go ahead open new thread about this matter. I am sure Christian here are not stupid for not understanding why God is our heavenly Father and not our heavenly Master!

It’s frustrating to see both Muslims and Christians here go from point A to point D so quickly in nearly every discussion on here. Please be careful, guys; it’s so easy to use unfamiliar terminology exclusive to our religions without remembering to explain it first.

i opened up a thread…check it out. Somone mentioned that it may be the word “slave” that people have a problem with b/c of our history with it in America. But I dont beleive any person has a problem with the relationship itself. Also, someone posted something about people calling themselves slaves of Jesus.

In the arab world, many christians are named abd al messeh…which translats as “slave of the messiah”

anyway…if you want to add anything in the other thread, go ahead 🙂

Its not about the word slave and master… father and children. we are talking about faith and how you implement your faith. No matter how hard you come up with the meaning of slave in arabic or any other languages, it wont chance the true meaning of relationship between God and His children.

. It is either that he is separate from His creation, or that he became a part of His creation and was killed for the sins of mankind.
Code:
God is separate from creation AND he came down to us, to feel our pain, our joy, as he knew no other way to reach us, and He ultimately SACRIFICED Himself FOR us (not merely killed, as if he was just a mortal), to reconcile mankind, provide redemption and eternal life. Here is a beautiful story that illustrates the greatest love of our Father.
A man who had lost his Faith, had a daughter who was trying to get him back to Mass, and he didn't understand why he should go. At this time as he laid there trying to figure out his life, he spotted a blue bird. Everytime he would reach out to it the bird would back away, and he wondered how he could get this blue bird to like him, (to love him and trust him). He finally realized the only way the bird would trust him and know him is if he BECAME a bluebird--and it finally hit him, everything he was trying to grasp about why he should have Faith--he realized WHY Christ came down to be one of us. Do you get it, or maybe you never will. I am sure I didn't do the story eloquent justice, but...

That just makes me sad. And a God loves his slaves? To me that view is cold, desolate, and leads to despair.
