In another thread, Hamba2han mentioned the following about Allah, so my question is, do they really love Allah or just worship him because of fear?

This then would be my suggestion to you → Think of God as being the Greatest Terrorist there is in the entire Universe.

There are 99 names belonging to Allah which refers to His many attributes and of them, here are a few which adequately describes God as being the Greatest Terrorist there is.

AL-JABBÂR – the Compeller

AL-MUDHILL – The Humiliator

AL-MUMÎT – The Causer of death

AL- MUNTAQIM – The Lord of Retribution, The Avenger

Once you have put this picture of God in your mind, then it becomes very easy for you to accept all of the other attributes that He has and if you wish to learn a bit more about the other attributes of God, kindly go here.

I am fairly sure ‘‘humiliation’’ here does not mean embarass, rather it means ‘‘to make humble’’ Surely nobody can be boastful of their achievements in front of God?
God has struck people dead in the Bible, so he has caused Death, also He did allow it into the world (albeit as a result of our actions).
I also recall a certain verse ‘‘Vengeance is mine saith the Lord’’

God Bless

In reality many muslims do love their imaginary master ‘Allah’. But submission is more central to their faith than love.

In some countries, it would be out of fear.
They aren’t lucky like a lot of us and have the choice.
It makes me wonder, if ALL countries allowed freedom of choice with their religion, how many more Catholics would there be…

I hate to say this, but if everyone had a choice, there would be more agnostics and atheists than there are now, I think. If everyone had a choice, and all of us Catholics lived a truely Catholic life, there would be nothing but Catholics.

You could be right, but i think there still would be a LOT more Catholics if there was the freedom of choice.

Personally, I’d like it if they would let us worship openly and study that little house in Mecca. In fact, I think it is ironic that no non-Muslim is allowed in the holy city at all. Makes me wonder what is being hidden.

The big black rock they worship 😛

They don;t worship the rock, they just pray to it all day and make trips to see it once in they’re life. Oh, wait 😉
Well since they strongly believe our trinity is the Father, the Son and Mary, I can understand them thinking a big black rock is a God…

You people are very ignorant and rude. I would like my membership canceled as soon as you can.

dolphinlove, ralphinal, you do realize that what you’ve been saying is pretty much akin to me cracking jokes about how good God was in the sack with Mary? If you can’t take it, don’t dish it out.

We have people of many different religions come on here accusing us of worshiping this and that, its not been rude, its a bit of light humour.
Sorry to have offended you, but doesn’t it say in the quran the trinity is the father, son and Mary???

Oh we can take it, we dish out as much as we take.

Many Muslims would honestly say that they love Allah, and so submit to him out of love. However, the love Allah has for them is unlike the love God has for us.

Generally Muslims are grateful to Allah because he is thought to be the creator. Their lives are given by Allah, belonged to Allah, and Allah can do as he like to humans. At times it looks like as if things depend on Allah’s whim and fancy. If Allah thinks they should die for a certain cause, then they should die and they are considered dispensable. There are some people whom Allah would never allow to heaven, no matter how good they are.

So Allah is quite frightening in this sense. Muslims would try to earn Allah’s favour. Allah would use point system; the good they do would score certain points and this will be tabulated later on to decide whether they merit heaven or not. No particular good that they do however guarantee them a place in heaven, except if they die in a Jihad for Allah.

You’ll see zealous Muslims flock to die in a Jihad. If there is no declared Jihad which is usually declared by an Imam, they would create one.

Judging at this scenario, it is likely the majority of Muslims submit to Allah because of fear.

There is nothing hidden. Its a house of stone with a rock placed in its side. people dont worship the house nor the stone. The House is opened every year to be washed from inside in the presence of alot of people and guests . They didnt find an alien there ! Nothing insde the house is holy . Muslims pray in its direction but they dont pray to it. There is nothing of any importance whatsoever to you as a catholic if you are in Mecca.

Muslims dont realy have a specification of what is the trinity in christianity. This is what the Christians themselves wrongly deduced from teh Quran. Then it became a popular myth. I have answered this questions many many times before and no body seem to listen .

The Quran critisize Christians for taking jesus and mary as Gods. It ddnt say tha this is wat cnstitute the trinity and it ddnt say that mary is part of the trinity. This is simply because in Islam the definition of worhip is different than in Catholicism . In Islam if you pray to a dead person to ask intercession , you ar emaking an act of worship to him. That is why extreme sufist who do that are considered out of Islam .

So if you wnat to be very accurate you can say that slam accuse Christians of worshipping the trinity PLUS worshipping Mary. not that Mary is part of the christian trinity.

Muslims love God like any Child would love his father. They love him but also have fear of upsetting him.

Thats very normal and infact healthy. If you dont have any fear of teh consequences of your sins infront of your creator then the world is a messed place.

Do Catholic fear as well as love him God ?

I think most of it is out of fear and obedience

they call Allah all-knowing and creator and the most merciful…but did they ever call Allah the most caring or loving?..I don’t think most of them have a personal relationship with allah…unlike Christians who do have a personal relationship with God

I would like a Muslim to tell me…is there any verse in the Quran that says Allah loves his creations and that Allah wishes for everyone to be saved?..Is there any verse that says Allah loves you?

I never thought there was an alien in there. My point is one that I’ve never seen a good answer for. If Islam is from God, as Christianity and Judaism are, why is it a capitol offence to convert from Islam in most Muslim nations? Why is it illegal to freely practice other faiths, if they are from the same God? Why are the laws made to keep Muslims away from other options? Likewise, why is it forbidden for non-Muslims to enter Mecca? Why are non-Muslims not allowed to examine artifacts from the early years of Islam? Why so much secrecy? The Catholic faith allows anyone into our holy sites, and we’ve opened our faith to study. Athiests have tested the Shroud of Turin. We are not afraid of the results. Anyone can convert to or from the faith with no reprisals. Why is there not the same policy in Islam?

I am sorry if anyone was offended by my previous posts. That was not my intention, and was not like me to be rude on this forum.
