Do Muslims love Allah, or submit to him out of fear?

As mentioned in the above informative post by DylanO the Jews attributed "that Jesus practiced black arts of magic ", “because he practiced sorcery” and “Witchcraft”.

Is it correct to state that these accusations of black magic, sorcery and witchcraft reflect that these qualities are of false Prophets?

I think most of it is out of fear and obedience

they call Allah all-knowing and creator and the most merciful…but did they ever call Allah the most caring or loving?..I don’t think most of them have a personal relationship with allah…unlike Christians who do have a personal relationship with God

I would like a Muslim to tell me…is there any verse in the Quran that says Allah loves his creations and that Allah wishes for everyone to be saved?..Is there any verse that says Allah loves you?

I believe…don’t quote me…but that a traditional Muslim believes that one needs to follow the Pillars of faith (7?) and that will lead as a pathway to Heaven.

And, for those who are joking about Islam–let’s try to be respectful. If you do not know about certain tenets of faith, it is better to not guess or joke about it. Here is a link about mecca.

I have muslim friends who are very loving and caring people. We debate our faiths vigorously, but above all, God calls us to love, even those who do not follow our Church. I love my friends, and two Muslim friends that I had a few years ago, converted to Catholicism…so, it goes to show, that we are witnesses to our faith everyday. (not to say that I helped in their conversion–lol:blush: although, I was always careful to discuss Christ’s love for them) Let’s not pretend we are better or superior to non Catholics–simply put, we are not. We are here to love and serve as a witness for our faith, not joke and belitte those who are on a different path, for whatever their reasons are. I will say though that one of my observations with these friends of mine, is that they are very prayerful people. Devoted to fasting, and modesty. There are exceptions to all religions, but I think that my friends’ prayer lives are very extensive and embedded in their everyday life. There are some common bonds that we share, just as people trying to be faithful to God, between Muslims and Christians. Now, the fundamental beliefs are very different–but, we can lead people to Christ, if we just put down our pride about these differences, and show them that He loves them.

And–Christ died for us all…that is what intrigued my friends way back when. Islam does not have a God sacrificing for His people–They simply do not worship God in that way (and also a big also–is that Islam teaches that Christ was not the One who died on the cross–no one died for our sins, basically), and we believe in a triune God, which they interpret that as polytheistic. So, once you break down some of these common misconceptions, your talks with Muslims will be rather enjoyable. It can take time, and patience…but Christ died for us all–Muslim, Jew, Gentile…Christians…for us ALL. It is a beautiful thing when someone converts from Islam because of that beautiful Truth.

Let’s not go into judgement. I know you mean well, but people have different styles of expressing themselves.

Some of those jokes are pretty harmless without malice. And if one is sincere, the so-called jokes are more often than not followed with sincere explanation.

BTW, I know in some Islamic forums, the argument can be very tense, quarrelsome and hurtful. The picture is not always rosy, believe me.

Gosh, the Islamic websites ive been too, you get banned if you start proving Islam wrong and there is no chance of debating.

What I mean is the minute you question Islam or stating your belief, you will get hurtful insult and reprimand. Seldom they stick to the topic of the discussion but instead they will start hurling attack at your religion. I lost count of the many times OT verses like those in Ezekiel or the incest of Lot’s daugthers, were being used to discredit the Bible. And yes, if you persist, you’ll be banned.

I’ll not say which sites as I don’t want to be a party to recommend people to go there.

I’m not judging–I think if people were cracking jokes about Jesus or Mary who were non Christians…we would not think they were funny. Likewise, we shouldn’t do that to people of other faiths. Ihave heard very crass jokes about Mary, and it saddens me…doesn’t make me chuckle. I ignore those things, but I don’t see a lot of explanations following the jokes about ‘worshipping a black stone,’ etc…on here regarding Muslims. But, we can agree to disagree. The Kaaba represents New Jerusalem, the black rock represents Jesus who is the chief cornerstone. Most Muslims don’t know that and a lot do make an idol of it, but that’s what it is.

The five pillars of Islam are confession of faith in God and what Mohammed said, which is confirming all the previous prophets. Prayer, fasting of drinking and other things, charity. And the pilgrimage to Mecca, which is not a literal trip, but turning your hearts to God and Jesus symbolized by the Kaaba representation.
