“fundamentalism” There’s that buzz word again.
I’m sorry, if you are somebody that takes a literalistic approach to the creation narrative in the bible, then i have to tell you that science has ruined any reasonable possibility of that point-of-view being true. And if on hearing that such an interpretation is not a tenable position, one still chooses not to listen to other reasonable possibilities, then that person is a fundamentalist. And some of their attitudes are almost cult-like in nature especially when they try to undermine education, medical health, and accuse people of being under demonic influence for taking the most reasonable position.

That kind of behavior is odd and at worst scary.
