Love, that’s why we should be a ppl
of Love, loving one another, and those

Is love the opposite of fear? I don’t mean to put you on the spot but I had heard this is new age teaching and something they say. Is it truly opposite? I feel unsure about it.

Obviously there are things to fear. Holy scripture says we are to fear God…that it’s the beginning of wisdom to do so. If I’m am fearful about saying the wrong thing to someone and hurting them isn’t that fear actually love?

The Scriptures back this: There is no fear in Love, but perfect Love
casts out fear b/c fear has to do w/ punishment 1 Jn 4:18

You’re right, we are instructed to fear God out of respect, but to Love God
out of duty as our spouse(the Church is Christ’s Bride). We can be fearful
and yet loving, yes, but that is a healthy kind of fear, I’m referring to the
fear that satan puts in our hearts when we have sinned and condemning
us so that we do and think after him!! 2 Tim 2:26
